Talking therapies can help with many difficulties, such as general life problems, coping with anxiety, exploring trauma, experiences of loss or phobias, financial issues, and/or relationship difficulties. The Cloud 9 Group can help with this wide range of conditions and more.

If you have not had counselling before, you may have questions about what is involved. You may feel uncertain about committing your time and money to see a counsellor, especially if you are unsure whether it will help. The information provided in this booklet, in addition to the information from the BACP and our website, will hopefully help to answer any query or reservation you may have.

Counselling may be beneficial for you if:

1

Something has been troubling you over a period of time and you are having difficulty finding a solution on your own.
2

Things are getting on top of you and affecting your wellbeing (for example, causing depression, anxiety or stress).
3

You find it hard to talk to friends or family because they are directly involved in the issues.
4

Issues from the past are having an impact on your day-to-day life.
5

Things that are troubling you are having a negative impact on your relationships or work.

Some of the benefits are:

1

Talking to someone neutral, outside of your immediate situation, who can show you a different perspective and help you find a way forward.
2

Talking with a trained counsellor who is skilled at listening can help you to process difficult thoughts and feelings.
3

Sharing your worries helps you feel less alone with the problem.
You can gain a better understanding of yourself and a clearer sense of what you want and need.
4

In the safety of the counselling relationship, you can practice communicating more clearly and honestly.
5

Counselling can help improve your relationships and your ability to communicate.
